The self-portrait, and the nude. Two classic forms of painting which have captured artists for centuries. In Perception I, II and III Westaway tackles both, looking to visualise the feelings and sensations that one gets when hyper fixating on a certain part of their body.

Coming from personal experience with warped body/self-image for several years, this series sets out to give representation to the isolating state that occurs within the depths of a self-critical mind; attempting to visualise what these thinking patterns look like and evoke what they feel like to experience.
